BtC – Worm Fence – Turkey – Lil’ Bear – Steel

Went on a pretty good solo ride after work… couldn’t find anybody else that could go. Apparently everybody is riding bikes you actually have to pedal. I did bump into a few guys from the valley that I’d never met on the trails before, tagged along with them down little bear then burned around to the top of Steel to return down to my truck. The weather was perfect and it was a good trail to be solo on, starting to get pretty dusty. According to the heart rate monitor, I burned just under 1500 cal.

Shoot me txt or email if you’re planning a ride, I’d love to tag along.

Tyson’s ride on new (old) bike

My neighbor just got a bike, a 1991 CR500, that he wanted to try out. It’s actually in really good shape and he rode it well. I took him up the ridge line from Weston canyon and did a little 18 mile loop.

I took some pictures, but somehow lost or deleted them before I saved… so, here’s the stats at least.

Glady’s Run

After a few weeks from the bike (family vacation) and missing some of the prime riding season for this area, I was really excited to get back and see what the conditions were like. Thankfully, Chaz and a couple of guys fresh off their missions were up for a good ride to go get a sandwich at Glady’s. We had a good ride and kept a pretty good pace. I thought we’d still hit some snow, but I only saw a tiny patch on the west side of Gibson basin. Ranger dip is already dusty. Good ride to get back into this season…

Crew: Chaz, Trevor, Tanner and me.

Gates open – yay!

I love it every year when they finally open the gates for the trails up Logan canyon. This year I tagged along with Tim and Cort to try out the fresh new trails. We hopped a bunch of logs, ran into some Zollingers on Richards, cut some trees out of the way on Cart/Seep loop, and had a good ride.

Trails: Steel, Richards, Cart, Seep, Whites

Weston – Dayton – Oxford attempt

Chaz wanted to get some training in for the upcoming “Idaho City 100” enduro race. So we decided to start at Weston canyon and try to “hit it hard”. We started at the bottom of Weston Canyon were met with a whiteout snow/hail storm as we climbed north up the ridge line, the wind was blowing pretty hard too. I was happy that Chaz thought to bring two Jackets, because I had forgotten mine. We ran into a lot of snow, but it wasn’t too bad since it was so cold we could mostly just ride on top of it.

The weather got friendlier as the day went on and it rained a little bit off and on, but made for great conditions, not too muddy and no dust at all. We met Brock out at the furthest point, he was doing the same loop, but the opposite way. He told us that there was a lot of snow where he had come from, so we decided to turn around and return the way we had come. I think we were all pretty tired by the end of it, but it was a blast.

Garrett also told us he was moving out of the valley, sad to see you go Garrett, let us know when you can come visit and ride!

Crew: Chaz, Garret, Brock and me.
