Dry Canyon (aka 016 trail)
Description:
Dry Canyon is a beautiful out and back trail. It makes a good side trip on your way up to Mt. Logan or on your way to Richards from Providence Canyon. I like hitting this trail after coming up Card Canyon. When you get to the end of the trail, hike up to the top of peak to the North, there are beautiful views of Cache Valley and Logan Canyon. The trail continues all the way around to Dry Canyon and Welches flat, but it is closed to motos, the old timers say it used to be a really fun loop… if we ever get a chance to petition a trail opening, this is one we should fight for.
- Length: 2.6 miles one way
- Difficulty: There are a couple of switchbacks and it seems like there are usually new trees down across this trail. If it’s still early in the riding season, there can be some pretty big snowdrifts in some of the deep North-facing canyons.
GPS Coordinates:
- Trialhead: N41 43.446 W111 41.861
- End of trail for motorized access: N41 43.817 W111 43.983
Combo/Loop opportunities:
This one is best accessed from a few different trails, Cowley Canyon, Card Canyon, Richards or Whites, Providence, and Millville. This trail is an out-n-back only.
