Steel Hollow
Description:
Steel Hollow is yet another beautiful canyon that’s a lot of fun to ride. Make sure you know where you’re going at the beginning, the head of this trail is also the beginning of Ricks and Willow Creek trails, neither of which are open to motorized vehicles.
- Length: 4 miles
- Difficulty: There are a few switchbacks and decent climbs with one section where you have to maneuver around on the edge of a cliff. It’s fine for beginners if you take it slow on the hard sections. This was my wife’s second ride ever.
Driving directions to trailhead:
Drive up Logan Canyon -> take the Right Hand Fork road until you get to the fork in the road right before Camp Lomia -> take the left fork and go until you reach the end of the road turnabout.
GPS Coordinates:
- Parking and Trailhead: N41 46.502 W111 36.588
- Top of the trail: N41 44.732 W111 33.315
Combo/Loop opportunities:
Unfortunately, there is a lot of road between the top of this trail and other single track options. If you take a right at the top you can go all the way back around and come down Cowley Canyon back to the Girl’s camp and parking. If you take a left, you can loop around and come back down BtC, or you can go all the way around and go North to Worm/Turkey/Lil’ Bear trails. This one is pretty fun to just go up and back down too.
